Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract Enhance your laboratory experience and put your expertise to work as a Pathology Assistant in a respected healthcare setting. This 13-week contract opportunity is ideal for professionals eager to make a difference through analytical skill and attention to detail while advancing their career alongside dedicated laboratory teams.
Schedule:
4x10 hour shifts Day shift: 8:00 am - 6:30 pm Friday through
Monday Qualifications:
ASCP certification required Demonstrated experience as a Pathology Assistant or in a related laboratory assistant role Proficiency in gross examination, specimen dissection, and laboratory procedures Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment Commitment to upholding strict quality and safety standards
Key Responsibilities:
Perform gross dissection and examination of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic analysis Ensure proper specimen identification, documentation, and tracking within laboratory protocols Collaborate closely with pathology and laboratory team members to maintain workflow efficiency Adhere to laboratory best practices, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance standards Assist with specimen photography and additional documentation as required Support the implementation of laboratory quality assurance and control measures
