This is a dual role that combines front-office administrative support with hands-on medical assistant duties in a substance-abuse treatment setting. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and comfortable moving between reception and administrative work and direct patient care, while maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. Administrative Responsibilities Serve as an on-site point of contact for daily operational needs, keeping front-desk and administrative workflows running efficiently. Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits accurately and in a timely manner — confirm eligibility, coverage details, and authorization requirements prior to visits, and resolve discrepancies as they arise. Communicate with insurance providers to obtain authorizations and resolve coverage issues, and escalate billing concerns to the provider or billing team promptly. Greet and check in patients and visitors; cover the front reception desk and maintain a welcoming, professional environment. Answer and route multi-line phone calls, and handle inquiries promptly and professionally. Schedule and coordinate appointments, provider changes, and calendar management. Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and maintaining accurate records. Prepare correspondence, memos, forms, and reports, and support documentation accuracy. Support copay collection and front-desk billing needs. Manage supply inventory and general office upkeep.
