Job Description

Toledo Clinic's Pediatric Office is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant that prefers the administrative duties of Medical Assisting. This position will work the front desk (phones, check in , check out) and provide clinical support when needed. The hours for this position are Mon-Fri (8:30-5:00). Qualified candidates will have an MA Credential (RMA/CMA/CMA) or the ability to obtain such credential within 60 days of hire. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex:
RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A
). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus. General Summary Performs both clerical and clinical duties to support the operation of the office. This position is expected to process referrals, complete prior authorizations, and assist with the phones. Will provide clinical support when needed. Works under the supervision of the Physician(s). Essential Duties & Responsibilities Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule. Answering phones - courteously and professionally. Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc. Accurately enter patient information in to the electronic medical record. Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications. Updating insurance information. Escorting patients to exam rooms, vitals, assist physician, insulin pumps, etc. Preparing and maintaining exam rooms. Assisting physician with minor procedures. Preparing patients for physicians (vitals, histories, etc.). Answering patient questions at the request of the physician. Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Required:
Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire. Completes all tasks within established time frame. Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.:
RMA, CMA, CCMA
). Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed. Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Education:
Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a medical office.
