Job Description

Toledo Clinic's Pediatric Office, located in Oregon Ohio, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. This position will be scheduled M-F, day shift hours (8-5). Qualified candidates will have previous experience working in a Pediatric office performing both front desk and clinical duties (including vaccinations). Also required is the
RMA/CMA/CCMA
credential or the ability to obtain such credential within 60 days of hire. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex:
RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A
). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary:
Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various front desk/clerical duties. Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
1) Escorting patients to exam room. 2) Various clerical duties (answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, patient check in/check out). 3) Assist providers with patient care. 4) Preparing exam rooms. 5) Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.). 6) Sterilizing and preparing instruments. 7) At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills. 8) Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments. 9) Follow up with lab work and/or xrays. 10) Administering injections/vaccinations 11) Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
  • Previous clinical and administrative experience in a Pediatric Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA, CCMA or RMA)
  • Medicare Exclusion List
  • Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
Education:
  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.
