This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in office procedures. Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting) Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
