In addition to other duties as assigned, this position primarily exists to provide nursing, administrative, and clerical duties to assist in the delivery of quality patient care. This role emphasizes a team-based approach to care and supports each member of the team.Qualifications:
Must have High School Diploma or equivalent and Medical Assisting Diploma or Associates Degree from an Accredited School. 2. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant. 3. Previous experience preferred, but not required. 4. Must be able to perform any clinical or clerical duty as assigned skillfully. 5. Must comply with all OSHA and HIPAA regulations. 6. Must hold a current CPR certification. 7. Must demonstrate strong verbal and communication skills. 8. Must demonstrate the ability to handle stressful situations appropriately. 9. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed. 10. Must demonstrate ability to work as part of the team. 11. Must maintain patient confidentiality.General Duties:
General duties include, but are not limited to, the following abilities: 1. Care for patients throughout the life span. 2. Oversee and ensure efficient turnover of exam rooms; maintain exam rooms in a neat and clean manner at all times. 3. Collect pertinent patient medical information to assist in the physician in the care of patients, such as interview patients, measure vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height) and record information on patients' charts. May operate equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests. 5. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests. May call pharmacies with prescription information. May call/dialogue with patients regarding test results or interpret medical information under the guidance of physician instructions. Assists in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of physician. Instruct patients regarding information needed once they leave the office. 11. Perform selected clinical and clerical duties as assigned. 12. Answer patient telephone calls and make appointments. 13. Maintain patient files. 14. Participate in scheduled customer service training and computer training provided by Pioneer Physicians Network Central Office. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands 1. Requires standing or sitting for extended periods of time. 2. Some bending stretching, lifting and stooping may be required. 3. Requires manual dexterity sufficient enough to operate office equipment including but not limited to telephone, keyboard, copier and fax machine. 4. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. 5. Requires the ability to communicate with patients, office personnel and the community.Job Type:
