Job Description

Medical Assistant / Clinical Assistant - Part-Time (25 Hours) Southwoods Health currently has a part-time Medical Assistant position open in Warren, Ohio. The Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with their team, partnering with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, comprehensive patient care. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled clinical and administrative duties.
Schedule:
25
Hours Per Week :
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
Essential Duties:
Customer Service :
Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for patients and visitors through exceptional customer service.
Patient Intake :
Room patients in a timely manner utilizing two unique patient identifiers.
Vitals & Charting :
Obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, current medications, and allergies in patient charts.
Specimen Processing :
Collect and process various specimens by following proper collection, storage, and recording protocols.
Lab Prep :
Prepare laboratory specimens in a timely manner for transport, maintaining positive specimen identification throughout processing.
Provider Communication :
Report and record critical laboratory values, adverse reactions, and pertinent information promptly to physicians and team members.
Administrative Support :
Perform administrative duties as assigned, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, filing, and maintaining medical records.
Patient Advocacy :
Recognize and support patient rights and responsibilities in the daily performance of job duties.
Compliance :
Ensure all processes within the practice maintain strict compliance with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
Experience :
1+ years of experience directly related to hands-on patient care.
Backgrounds Welcomed :
Prior experience as an STNA, CNA, Phlebotomist, or Pharmacy Technician is highly desirable.
Education :
Formal Medical Assistant schooling is a plus, but not required if equivalent clinical experience is met.
Core Skills :
Exceptional customer service, strong multitasking capabilities, and proficiency utilizing medical record databases.
Certification :
