Medical Assistant - MMG SURGERY

DEFINITION

The Medical Assistant (MA) is accountable for assisting in the delivery of patient care in the clinic during office hours. The medical assistant is accountable to the Physician/Provider, Office Supervisor, Department Director, patient and family for patient care functions.

Patient population includes:

all age groups to include children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduated from a Medical Assistant Program. Provides documentation showing completion of the medical assistant program; which needs to be presented at time of hire allowing the hospital to verify completion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One to two years physicians' office experience, as a MA, preferably primary care.
