Job Summary Retina Care and Research, LLC is a growing retina exclusive medical practice in Oregon, with offices in the Willamette Valley and Western Oregon Coast We are professional, agile and, friendly with no drama or negativity allowed! We work hard for our patients and support each other. We are a team in every sense of the word! We are looking for a medical /admin office assistant who can work in clinic 1-3 times a week or as needed and help in our admin office on the non
  • clinic days.
This position is for Full Time (about 32-40) hours per week over a 5 day week. This position requires traveling with the team in the company vehicle to various locations in our satellite locations. The position will be split between traveling (working in clinic) and also working in our Eugene admin office. We are happy to train! We prefer candidates with medical/healthcare experience. Specific eye care / ophthalmic technicians are preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Responsibilities
  • First part of the this position will focus on being an Ophthalmic Tech, which is a medical assistant in an ophthalmology/retina practice , working directly with an eye physician and patients and the second part of the duties will be to assist in our small admin office helping with mail, bank runs, deposits, scanning and uploading documents, helping with scheduling patients, answering patient calls, handling errands for the office as needed, ordering, unboxing medication shipments, breaking down cardboard and disposiing of garbage , and other clerical duties that may be needed Typing, computer skills are a must.
Attention to detail, willingness to learn, friendliness, enjoys a fast paced environment, and very high dependability are critical. Other Responsibilities (we will train you!):
  • Perform preliminary eye examinations and tests, including measuring visual acuity, and intraocular pressure.
  • Perform work up tasks with patient intake, including obtaining medical history and chief complaint. Prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures and assist ophthalmologist during examinations.
  • Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the ophthalmologist.
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT and fundus photography
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic health record systems.
This job may also have a component of medical receptionist. There are days that you will be assigned to work front desk in our medical office. You must be flexible between Tech/Assistant work and front desk work on any given day depending on clinic needs.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of EHRs and medical records/documentation standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred but NOT required.
