In this vital role, the Medical Assistant (MA) is an essential member of the healthcare team responsible for supporting providers in delivering high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care. The MA performs both clinical and administrative duties while maintaining exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate documentation, assisting with procedures, coordinating patient care, and promoting smooth clinic operations. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment for examination by obtaining vital signs and documenting chief complaints. Support clinical procedures. Manage electronic health records, ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical history, ICD coding, and treatment plans. Maintain compliance with safety standards while providing compassionate patient service in diverse settings. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to accurately support clinical documentation and patient care. Proven experience in medical office management and administrative support within busy healthcare environments. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently and securely. Ability to assist with emergency medicine protocols including basic life support (BLS) and medication administration during urgent situations. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and culturally sensitive care delivery.
