Job Description

Overview Small Private Cardiology office , Seeking a Medical Office Assistant to become part of our team! Practice is located in Greensburg/ Jeannette area. Consistent daylight, weekday hours. No holidays, nights or weekends. Experience preferred but not required. Administrative experience also a plus. Responsibilities Check in and check out/ reception. Promptly and efficiently room patients - triage, i.e., obtain vitals and review medications, review medical history, obtain insurance information and copays and make follow-up appointments. Prep patient charts in electronic medical record. Communicate via HIPAA guidelines with other medical facilities to prepare patient charts. Communicate via HIPAA guidelines with office staff including direct communication with physician. Assist with various other clerical and clinical office tasks including addressing patient concerns, communicating test results, and scheduling patient appointments and testing as well as obtaining authorization from insurance companies for testing and medication. Must be proficient with computers and have previous experience with electronic medical records. Excellent phone etiquette a must. Positive patient oriented mindset. Travel to Monroeville office 1-2 times a month Skills Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Pharmaceuticals Experience working Cardiology or Family/Internal Medicine office setting preferred Previous experience working in Stress lab setting a plus Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and appointment scheduling; familiarity Ability to Multi-task and work as a team Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, EKG's, and basic emergency procedures including basic life support (BLS) certification Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations across specialties Capable of multitasking efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate patient care Dependability and Schedule Flexibility a plus
