This position supports the creation, organization, and maintenance of medical records that help guide health care decisions within the institution. It ensures that important information is complete, accurate, and stored according to policies, regulations, and legal standards. As a Medical Records Assistant, you will perform the following duties:Record Management:
Prepare, update, and review electronic, paper, and film records to ensure completeness and accuracyFile Handling:
File, issue, and transport records in line with confidentiality rules, regulations, and legal requirementsArchiving Work:
Archive inactive records and ensure proper transfer and storage of documents, films, and x-raysInformation Tracking:
Maintain logs that monitor release of information and requests from staff or other facilitiesStatistical Reporting:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of clerical experience maintaining or reviewing medical records, transcribing dictated or recorded medical information, or conducting medical abstracting and coding; or Graduation from an accredited medical secretarial, medical records, medical transcription, medical assisting, medical coding, or health information management program; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:
