Job Description
Travel Medical Assistant Bring preventive healthcare directly to patients where they live while building a career that keeps you moving. In this full-time W2 Travel Medical Assistant role, you'll complete scheduled in-home wellness visits across Pennsylvania, combining hands-on patient care, independence, and statewide travel instead of spending every day in one clinic. The Opportunity This is a field-based Medical Assistant role focused on preventive care, care-gap support, patient relationships, and accurate documentation — not urgent care. You'll visit patients in their homes for wellness-focused appointments such as Annual Wellness Visits, Medicare wellness visits, and Well-Child Visits. Home visits begin in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with travel extending throughout Pennsylvania based on business and patient coverage needs. This role is a strong fit for a Medical Assistant who enjoys direct patient interaction, can work independently in changing field environments, and wants to help patients complete important preventive visits in a comfortable, respectful way. What You Will Own Home-Based Preventive Visits Complete scheduled in-home wellness visits with patients across assigned Pennsylvania markets Support Annual Wellness Visits, Medicare wellness visits, and Well-Child Visits Help patients feel comfortable, respected, and unrushed during each visit Gather relevant patient information and support preventive care documentation Hands-On Clinical Support Take and document vitals and other basic patient information Perform basic point-of-care support such as UAs, A1Cs, screenings, and questionnaires Support routine wellness-focused clinical workflows in patient homes Escalate or communicate relevant visit information through the appropriate documentation process Mobile Field Workflow Manage a mobile schedule while traveling between patient homes Use an EMR/EHR system to document visit information accurately Stay organized across changing routes, visit locations, and coverage needs Represent a patient-first care model in home-based settings across Pennsylvania What Makes You a Strong Fit At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience Medical Assistant credential, certification, diploma, or equivalent qualification Hands-on clinical Medical Assistant experience with direct patient care responsibilities Comfort working independently in patient homes Comfort with local, same-day travel and extended travel assignments within Pennsylvania Ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania based on business and patient coverage needs Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license for local or same-day visits Nice-to-Haves Experience conducting Annual Wellness Visits Experience conducting Well-Child Visits Prior home visit, mobile care, field-based care, or community health experience Experience documenting patient visits in an EMR/EHR system Travel Expectations This is a statewide Travel Medical Assistant role. Home visits will start in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with travel extending throughout Pennsylvania based on business and patient coverage needs. The role is not limited to Montgomery County. The right fit is someone who is comfortable with frequent travel, changing coverage needs, and working independently in different markets across the state. Schedules are typically provided about 2 weeks in advance, including where you'll be going, when visits are scheduled, and how long visits are expected to last. For local or same-day visits, you may use your own reliable vehicle, with eligible mileage reimbursed at $0.725 per mile. For extended travel assignments within Pennsylvania, covered travel expenses may include transportation, car rental when needed, hotel, and meals. Compensation The expected total compensation range is USD 31 Hourly.
