Role:

Certified Medical Assistant supporting outpatient care in ambulatory settings.

Responsibilities include:

Obtaining and documenting patient information such as visit reasons, vital signs, medication reviews, and screening details using electronic medical records. Preparing examination and treatment rooms, assisting patients with visits, and ensuring safety and privacy. Providing direct patient care under provider supervision, including performing EKGs, wound dressings, and supporting minor surgical procedures. Preparing and administering medications per policy, conducting patient tests, collecting laboratory specimens, and performing phlebotomy. Managing clerical duties like scheduling, referrals, insurance pre-authorizations, co-pay collection, and maintaining accurate medical records. Facilitating patient communication, reinforcing education, and assisting with orientation of new staff. Handling inventory, sterilization, infection control, and equipment maintenance, while participating in safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Graduate of a recognized 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required, certified by NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA. Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and infection control skills.
