Job Description
Medical Assistant - Family Practice We are seeking a friendly and energetic individual interested in working with our practice as a Medical Assistant. This is a privately owned, state-of-the-art medical office with primary care, urgent care, and physical therapy, whose mission is to provide comprehensive health care in the medical home model. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will provide high-quality customer service. This position offers a pleasant working environment that focuses on superior patient experience, and not productivity/patient throughput. The position works closely with physicians and nurse practitioners as an integral member of the care team. The Medical Assistant provides close support and primary patient contact for physicians and nurse practitioners, establishing critical relationships and rapport with patients. This is an excellent position for someone interested in the field of Medicine but looking for more experience. Our alumni in this position include 20+ employees who have gone on to become physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and a midwife. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience! Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Room patients Prepare lab specimens Update medical records Handle correspondence with patients Perform drug and imaging prior authorizations Participate in inter-office communication and meetings office notes Aid physicians/NPs with billing Record vital signs Assist coordinating patient care Triage patient calls specialists/hospitals/radiology Explain treatment procedures Prepare patients for examinations Perform chart review prior to patients' appointments Prepare examine rooms Phone in prescriptions to pharmacy Other administrative duties as Perform venipuncture assigned Perform electrocardiograms Follow HIPAA compliance Clean examination rooms guidelines
