Medical Assistant - CCJob Description As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within our medical office. You will utilize ModMed as the electronic medical record (EMR) system to manage patient records. Your responsibilities will include welcoming patients, handling inquiries, and maintaining patient records with confidentiality and accuracy. Responsibilities Utilize ModMed as the EMR system for patient records. Welcome patients as they arrive, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed. Handle incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate personnel, and address patient inquiries. Verify patient insurance coverage. Organize workload and prioritize tasks effectively. Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills with a positive attitude towards patients. Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completed. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing. Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records. Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care. Order and manage medical supplies and equipment. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations. Essential Skills Experience with EMR systems, specifically ModMed. Medical receptionist or front office experience. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Orthopedic experience is strongly preferred. Experience with handling high-volume calls. Familiarity with medical terminology and patient service. Work Environment The work environment is welcoming and supportive, with providers eager to teach and a friendly atmosphere. The office is part of a large network with a local feel, consisting of seven offices all within New Jersey. The team comprises over 80 employees across various skill sets. Office hours require an 8-hour shift with no weekends or evenings, and once converted, you are eligible for two work-from-home days. The department handles about 70-100 patient calls per day, with a total of eight team members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparta, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
