• FT•Telehealth SC, United States (Hybrid) Apply Now Job Description Medical Assistant•FT•Telehealth About the Role McLeod Health is expanding access to high-quality virtual care through Virtual Urgent Care and School-Based Telehealth.

The Telehealth Clinical Coordinator blends telehealth operations with hands-on clinical support. This role coordinates and supports virtual visits remotely and, when on-site, serves as the tele-presenter facilitating real-time exams with approved peripherals and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and schedule telehealth appointments; confirm readiness of patients, families, school staff, and providers. Initiate, facilitate, and support video visits using Epic and approved platforms (e.g., TytoCare); ensure device readiness and connectivity.

Perform pre-visit intake:

verify identity, update medical history, review medications/allergies, capture chief complaint, and document in the EHR. Serve as on-site tele-presenter as needed: set up telehealth carts/kits, operate peripherals (digital otoscope, stethoscope, exam camera), and assist the remote provider within scope of practice. Provide remote support to school personnel and clinic staff for visit workflow, patient preparation, and basic troubleshooting. Document visit activities accurately in the EHR; ensure appropriate consent and privacy workflows are followed for telehealth encounters. Monitor and maintain telehealth equipment inventory; perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and device log documentation; coordinate repairs/escalations. Deliver just-in-time training and coaching for school staff and clinic super users; reinforce etiquette and safety for video encounters. Participate in project planning and execution that supports the ongoing growth and optimization of the telehealth program. Track basic performance measures (e.g., volume, connectivity issues, turnaround times) and support quality improvement initiatives. Identify and escalate technical issues, workflow concerns, patient safety issues, or scheduling conflicts to the appropriate teams. Model professional, compassionate service; maintain effective communication with patients, families, providers, and school partners. Qualifications:

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AMT, NBA, NCCT, or equivalent) or other approved clinical credential per organizational policy (e.g., LPN). High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (if MA pathway). 1+ years of experience in ambulatory, urgent care, pediatrics, or telehealth. Demonstrated proficiency with EHR workflows and video platforms; confident with technology and multitasking. Excellent communication skills and customer-service orientation; able to work effectively with children, families, and school staff. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites as needed.

Preferred:

Experience with Epic HER.

Compliance & Safety:

Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational telehealth privacy/security standards; follow consent and documentation requirements. Adhere to infection prevention, device cleaning, and equipment transport protocols. Follow organizational policies, procedures, and scope-of-practice guidelines for delegated clinical tasks.

Work Environment:

Hybrid role with remote work and on-site support at schools/clinics as scheduled. Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds (telehealth kits/carts) and to stand or sit for extended periods. Local travel within the region; occasional adjusted hours to meet program needs.
