Full-Time (40 hours) Join our dedicated care team at MaineHealth Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Podiatry, where we provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients of all ages. We're seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) who is motivated, organized, and passionate about supporting patients through recovery and long-term wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient care Take vital signs, record medical histories, and update patient charts Administer medications and immunizations as directed by providers Perform basic lab tests and collect specimens Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and assist with patient communications Educate families on health, wellness, and treatment plans Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).

License/Certifications:

Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in Hampshire.

Experience:

Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.
