This is a hands-on clinical position in a fast-paced urgent care environment. The ideal candidate enjoys direct patient care, works well as part of a team, can manage multiple priorities, and is comfortable assisting physicians and other clinical staff throughout the patient encounter. Primary Responsibilities Room and triage patients efficiently while maintaining a welcoming and professional patient experience. Obtain and document chief complaint, history and other appropriate patient information. Obtain and accurately document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, temperature, height, and weight. Maintain accurate clinical documentation within the electronic medical record. Perform point-of-care testing and other laboratory procedures within training and scope. Collect and properly handle patient specimens. Perform or assist with blood draws and other specimen collection as appropriately trained. Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures. Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies. Administer medications and treatments as ordered and within the employee's training and permitted scope. Assist with wound care, bandaging and other routine urgent-care procedures. Communicate patient status, completed testing, and other pertinent information to providers and members of the clinical team. Maintain patient rooms and clinical areas, including cleaning and restocking between patients. Follow infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA and clinic safety procedures. Assist with inventory and proper storage of clinical supplies. Help maintain efficient patient flow from triage through discharge. Assist other members of the clinical team as needed during periods of high patient volume. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant training/certification, EMT experience, patient-care technician experience, or other comparable clinical healthcare experience preferred . Previous urgent care, emergency department, physician office, or other high-volume outpatient experience preferred. Comfortable obtaining vital signs and performing hands-on patient care. Experience with point-of-care testing and specimen collection preferred. Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred. Basic understanding of medical terminology. Comfortable using electronic medical records; eClinicalWorks experience is a plus. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Dependable, professional, and able to work collaboratively with physicians and other members of the healthcare team. Must perform clinical duties only within applicable training, competency, certification/licensure, and clinic policies.
