Job Description

The Vascular & Vein Institute of the South is looking to hire a Part-Time Medical Assistant for our recently opened office in Jackson, TN. We are seeking a proactive, adaptable, and patient-centric professional with excellent people skills to work alongside the top vascular surgeons in the Mid-South. Must be dependable, team-oriented, and able to adjust in a fast-paced environment. Training may be required in Memphis, TN (if training in Jackson is not available)
Key Job Responsibilities:
Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations. Take and record vital signs, collect medical history, and other health information. Prepare patients for physical exams including assisting in removing bandages, stitches, etc. Ensure medical supplies are properly stocked. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR (Allscripts). Assist in preparing charts by pulling patient test results and reviewing pre-check-in information. Assist with patient communication by responding to patient messages as needed. Support front-desk and other office staff during high-volume periods or absences as needed. All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with patients, patient families and multiple physicians in a tactful and professional manner. Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects to maintain workflow as a medical assistant. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to perform basic computer skills. Ability to act quickly in emergency situations. Patient Rights Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality of all patient information to assure patient rights are protected, including the right of refusal. Requirements Certification for Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred High School graduate or equivalent. Must have at least one (1) year of experience working in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant or similar health care experience. MUST have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation Candidates must consent to a standard background check upon a conditional offer of employment
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
