Job summary:
  • Performing the intake process for patients which includes taking patients to exam rooms, getting their blood pressure, recording their history, review of systems, reconciliation of medications
  • Preparing patients for examination which may include getting supplies ready, removing bandages, drawing up injections, and related tasks
  • Keeping patient information secure and safeguarding medical records
  • Contributing to patient scheduling, answering phones, check-in, check-out, as needed
  • Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
  • Taking x-rays using our in-office x-ray machine (will assist in obtaining the appropriate certification)
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of practice, such as re-bandaging patients, measuring for and modifying orthotics (will teach on the job)
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program plus one year of experience, preferred
  • Some knowledge of electronic medical records software
  • Podiatric Medical Assistant Radiological Technician Certification (will assist in obtaining this within 1 year of hire) This Podiatry office is a partner in StrideCare, a multi-specialty medical group focused on delivering comprehensive lower extremity care across Texas.
