Pay:
$15.25 - $16.75 per hour or based on experience Job description:
DESCRIPTION
Our open positions have a schedule of 6:45am-4:00/4:30pm, Mon-Thu. Fridays have a more flexible schedule as the practice closes at 3pm. Our Medical Assistants are responsible for assisting the medical providers in all aspects of the dermatology practice. They help educate patients about procedures, help treat dermatology skin conditions and document details of the patient's treatment for the health care provider. Medical Assistants accompany patients from the waiting room to the check out desk.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist medical providers during patient examinations and treatments and document patient treatment Take medical histories, hand out educational pamphlets and instruction sheets Screen and prepare patients for physical exam/surgical exam for medical providers Collect specimens for laboratory analysis Call in prescriptions to pharmacies Administer injections as requested by medical providers Maintain clean, safe and well stocked exam/surgical rooms for patients Assist with cleaning exam rooms after each use and weekly "scrub-down" of rooms Perform patient callbacks and follow up on patient compliance as delegated Perform other duties as deemed necessary for the position
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED Medical Assistant Training from an accredited Medical Assistant Training program a plus or years of experience in field
REQUIREMENTS
Strong interpersonal skills: approachable, able to establish rapport easily, demonstrate empathy, strong active listening skills.
Collaborative:
able to work in a team setting to accomplish Practice objectives Reliable transportation for assignment to satellite locations; must be willing to work at satellite locations Valid driver license and vehicle insurance
STRONGLY PREFERRED
Minimum one (1) year MA experience Dermatology experience a plus Bilingual (Spanish)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to withstand considerable walking, standing, sitting, bending, and kneeling daily. Visual acuity for the accurate reading of computer spreadsheets, gauges, computer/iPad screens and reports. Ability to drive to, and work at, satellite offices Ability to manipulate small tools and office equipment Tasks involve the occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues.
Work Locations:
Main clinic and travel to local satellite offices (Robstown, Rockport, South Side Corpus Christi)
