Job Description
Our client, seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a temporary assignment in their Edinburg, TX facility. This position supports physicians and clinical staff by providing quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring a positive patient experience. Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for examinations
- Obtain and document patient information accurately in the medical record
- Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary draws
- Perform EKGs and other clinical support duties within scope of practice
- Administer non-IV medications as directed
- Assist with specimen collection and wound care procedures
- Prepare, clean, stock, and organize exam and treatment rooms Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain certification within 180 days of employment
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations
