Job Description
Job Summary Medical Assistant needed for busy Family Practice Office in Ennis, TX. No weekends. Must have at least 2 years of experience as a medical assistant in internal medicine or family practice. Will be rotating from front to back office. $16.50-$19.50 per hour, negotiable based on experience. Matching IRA, paid vacation time, and health insurance offered. Four-and- a-half day work week, off at 12:00PM on Fridays. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and documenting clinical information accurately. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support to support patient treatment plans. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient information and medical records. Conduct patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories, updating medication lists, and verifying insurance details. Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining organized medical documentation in compliance with privacy regulations. Assist with specialized procedures related to dermatology, inpatient care, or trauma center protocols as required. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers. Maintain a clean and sterile environment in clinical areas while adhering to safety standards and infection control protocols. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office environment. Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) management and medical documentation practices. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic physiology knowledge. Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacology principles, and medical assisting procedures across diverse healthcare settings.
