Job Title:
Certified Medical Assistant Summary:
Certified Medical Assistant (MA) is a critical role in the delivery of health care for patients. We cross train our MAs to set them up for success in all clinic functions, as a result this position performs a wide variety of front office and back office patient care activities. This position is ideal for a dependable and career growth-oriented individual with the right attitude and work ethic to advance with the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Cleans rooms after procedures, cleans and disinfects equipment, restocks supplies. Assists and accompanies patients from waiting room and prepares patients for examination. Interviews patients and records or inputs information to patient's medical record. Collects all medical data in order to facilitate the physician's ability to draw conclusions about the patient's needs. Ensures all charts and forms for the office visit are ready for the provider. Measures, collects and records patient's vital signs (e.g., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and prepares patients for examinations, tests, procedures and x-rays. Performs routine patient point of care testing, acquires and processes electrocardiograms, and collects and processes blood specimens and urine samples. Prepares and administers routine injections and vaccinations excluding controlled substances, as directed by physician. Identifies and reports adverse reactions. Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments Able to perform Insurance verifications. Make referrals to other providers. Obtain prior authorizations. Check patients in and out smoothly including handling new patient paperwork and collecting copays. Able to handle and route incoming calls appropriately.
Qualifications/Skills:
1 year Medical Assistant Experience preferred Experience with EMR (eClinicalWorks preferred) Phlebotomy and EKG skills BLS Certification (Preferred) High School or Equivalent Required English Speaking (Required) Spanish Speaking (Preferred)
