Position Summary The Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and the healthcare team while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, compassionate, and committed to delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. Essential Responsibilities Perform duties within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant. Welcome and room patients according to established policies and procedures. Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians with clinical procedures. Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent patient information. Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR). Schedule appointments and coordinate patient care as directed by the provider. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare professionals. Conduct telephone and in-person patient screenings and obtain pertinent medical information. Maintain accurate and organized medical records. Follow infection prevention and control protocols at all times. Protect patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Deliver compassionate, courteous, and professional customer service to every patient. Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Current Medical Assistant certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 180 days of employment. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team. Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and patient confidentiality. Preferred One or more years of experience in a physician office or outpatient clinical setting.
