This vital role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and passionate about providing outstanding service in a fast-paced medical environment. You will handle patient interactions, manage medical records, assist with documentation review, and support clinical workflows using various EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help foster a welcoming atmosphere for all patients and staff. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and claims processing Schedule appointments efficiently using clinic management software such as Eclinicalworks Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) like eClinicalWorks. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper coding practices includingCPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
coding for medical billing purposes Schedule patient appointments. Send imaging orders via EHR. Prepare patients for the next clinic day. Confirm appointments. Verify appointments. Obtain referrals from PCP. Office supplies inventory. Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, assisting with basic procedures, and maintaining medical records in accordance with health information management standards Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; clinic experience highly preferred 3-4 years medical assistant experience required 3-4 years medical receptionist experience required Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines for accurate documentation and billing Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks experience with health information management is a plus Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software. Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality at all times Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and strong organizational skills Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join our team where your dedication makes a difference!
