Certified Medical Assistant — Dermatology
Job Description
A private dermatology practice in New Braunfels is hiring one certified medical assistant to work directly alongside the physician. This is a hands-on clinical seat, not a front-desk role: you will be in the room for skin exams, biopsies and excisions every day.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Room patients, take vitals and histories, and prep the chart before the physician enters
- Set up and assist with shave and punch biopsies, excisions and minor surgical procedures
- Handle specimens end to end: label, log, requisition, and track pathology results back
- Sterilize instruments and run the autoclave; keep rooms turned over and stocked
- Chart in the EMR during and after visits
- Manage prior authorizations and patient enrollment in biologic and specialty drug programs
- Call patients with results and post-procedure instructions
REQUIRED
- Current CMA, RMA, CCMA or NCMA certification (please name your certifying body)
- Current BLS
- At least one year of back-office clinical medical assisting
- Able to reliably commute to New Braunfels 78130 STRONGLY
PREFERRED
- Dermatology, plastic surgery, Mohs or other procedural specialty experience
- Experience assisting biopsies and handling specimens
- Comfort scribing into an EMR during the visit
Conversational Spanish Schedule:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.Pay:
