Job Description
Austin Health Partners (NeighborlyMD) is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. - $22.75 commensurate with experience. Pay range for MA2 is $20.00
- $24.50 commensurate with experience. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range (or have the minimum apply to them), but rather, the exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate's location, relevant knowledge skills, and qualifications. WHO WE ARE
Austin Health Partners (AHP) is an independently-owned, physician-led Pediatric and Family Medicine supergroup consisting of multiple care centers in the Austin metro area. AHP is consistently nominated by patients for awards such as "Best Pediatrician," "Best Family Practice," and more!ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Collect basic patient intake and vitals 2. Perform necessary point of care testing 3. Document all patient visits and communication in EMR properly 4. Performs capillary blood draws, newborn screens, dental varnish, and routine hearing and vision screens 5. Properly administer oral medication as directed by the provider 6. Handles refills/ referrals/ authorizations 7. Answer back line phone calls as needed as well as accurately chart phone calls and initiate proper follow through 8. Perform necessary cleaning duties maintaining an orderly work environment and ensure an adequate stock of medical supplies 9. Responsible for all incoming school/day care forms for the assigned provider 10. This position will preform Front Desk responsibilities as Medical Assistants rotate to cover the Front Desk. 11. Ethical conduct, confidentiality, and collaboration with the healthcare team are expected and considered essential elements of this position 12. Can maintain physical demands and work environment as listed below In addition to the responsibilities stated above, MA2 should be able to perform the following: 1. Ability to perform EKG's 2. Properly administer vaccines and injectable medication as directed by the provider (oral and single/multi-dose injectables). Must pass practice standards on administration for vaccines to become anMA II. 3.
Performs straight catheter via sterile procedure as ordered by the provider. 4. TVFC knowledge- ordering/counting/uploading temps 5.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must Have 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Minimum of 6 months Medical Assistant experience OR MA certificationFOR MA 2
1. Minimum of 1 years experience as an MA or minimum of 1 year experience in pediatric office with MA certification Nice to Have 1. CPR Certification 2. 1 year or more health care industry experience 3. Certified Medical Assistant 4. Knowledge of EMR software 5. Spanish is a plusPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and carry. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This job will require exposure to patient elements. Certain vaccines are required of all clinic staff.COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS
If requested by any patient, then staff is required to wear a surgical mask. Patients are strongly encouraged to wear a mask if they are experiencing any acute respiratory symptoms or have a fever.EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
You need to be available to work a 9 hour shift, which includes a 1 hour lunch, between the core work hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work shifts can vary depending on business needs. This position will require occasional weekend and evening hours.AAP/EEO STATEMENT
