Summary of essential job functions
  • Chart patients height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, head circumference, vision test, hearing test
  • Support patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications; authorizing drug refills as directed; phoning in prescriptions to pharmacies; and administering injections (immunizations, antibiotics, allergy)
  • Ensure that patient rooms are clean and restocked for next patient
  • Follow-up with lab/x-ray orders
  • Chart EPSDT early development
  • Assist with casting, circumcisions, and suturing, change dressings
  • Perform catheterizations (male & female)
  • Make follow-up appointments (both internal and external)
  • Document all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, presenting and previous conditions, hospital data in the medical record
  • Complete necessary medical forms
  • Obtain medical reports from other offices and hospitals
  • Ensure the Medicaid report for vaccines is processed
  • Take nurse calls
  • Set up for procedures, circumcisions, etc.
  • Know vaccine schedule and be able to assist provider when vaccines are needed
  • Input vaccines in to Immtrac when time permits
  • Assist provider with medical exams and prescriptions
  • Call prescriptions in to pharmacy
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential
  • Counsel patients regarding diagnoses
  • Assist in properly training new employees
  • Travel to satellite offices as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned. Abilities required
  • Ability to sit up and/or stand for 8 hours daily
  • Maintain confidentiality in matters regarding the Clinic, its patients and employees
  • Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others clearly and concisely
