Job Description

Methodist Health System is seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this clinic-based role, you will support providers by rooming patients, obtaining vitals and histories, assisting with exams and minor procedures, administering injections, drawing labs, and documenting in the EHR. You will also coordinate scheduling, referrals, and patient education while upholding our culture of integrity, collaboration, and inclusive, patient-centered care across our Texas network. Responsibilities Room patients, obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints Prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures and provider visits Administer injections, perform EKGs, draw labs, and process specimens per protocol Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) and manage patient flow Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and follow-up appointments Support physicians and nurses during examinations and minor procedures Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and ensure infection control compliance Educate patients on medications, instructions, and follow-up care Handle phone triage, messages, and patient inquiries professionally Uphold Methodist Health System standards of compassion, integrity, and teamwork Required Skills Vital signs measurement Phlebotomy Administering injections and vaccines Electrocardiograms (EKG) Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation (e.g., Epic or similar) Medical terminology Patient triage and intake Infection control and standard precautions Clinical workflow and patient scheduling Basic life support (BLS) procedures
