Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This energetic position combines clinical support with front-office responsibilities, providing an engaging environment for those passionate about healthcare, patient service, and medical administration. You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient intake, and electronic health records (EHR) systems while assisting clinicians with clinical tasks. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere and support high-quality medical services across specialties such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and geriatrics. Duties Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in/check-out processes using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and perform intake procedures including vital signs, height, weight, and medical history documentation Assist healthcare providers with clinical duties such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, performing phlebotomy procedures, and supporting medication administration when needed Maintain accurate medical documentation by recording patient encounters, updating medical records, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations Support clinical staff with specialized tasks in dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care settings including basic physiology knowledge and anatomy familiarity Manage appointment scheduling efficiently to optimize clinic flow while providing excellent patient service Handle administrative duties like answering phones, managing referrals, coordinating follow-up appointments, and maintaining organized medical records in EHR systems Assist in hospital or inpatient environments with inpatient experience tasks such as vital monitoring or assisting during procedures in Level I or Level II trauma centers or OR settings Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office environment with strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR management systems and familiarity with ICD coding and pharmacology principles Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus Knowledge of dermatology procedures, hospital medicine protocols, or urgent care workflows highly desirable Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations including geriatrics Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs accurately and supporting medical assisting functions in fast-paced settings Inpatient or hospital experience preferred; familiarity with Level I/II trauma center operations or OR procedures is advantageous Excellent organizational skills to manage medical records efficiently while maintaining confidentiality Join us to be part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing compassionate care while advancing your career in a vibrant clinical environment!
Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
