Job Description

Job Overview The Prior Auth Specialtist plays a vital role in assisting providers and patients with medication prior authorizations. This position involves working in a fast-paced office environment. The Specialtist will assist with medication authorizations from a wide range of medical specialties. Duties Assist with Prior Auth submisions via Cover My Meds, Verbal and fax forms. Assist with appeal submissions. Assist with Patient Assisstance Program enrollments. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medication authorizations. Assist with status follow up calls for Prior Auth, Appeal and Patient Assistance enrollments. Collaborate with providers for needed clinical information. Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices within the pharmacy setting. Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices. Skills Profiecent with Cover My Meds. Proficient with EMR systems Proficient with medical and pharmaceutical terminology. Inherent organizational skills, time efficiency and customer service oreinted.
