Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking patient histories, preparing rooms. Support inpatient and outpatient care by monitoring patient status, updating records with ICD coding for diagnoses, and assisting with physiology or anatomy-related assessments. Manage appointment scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications to ensure efficient clinic flow. Perform basic laboratory duties including specimen collection, processing samples for tests. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols including Basic Life Support (BLS) standards and infection control practices. Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing patient intake forms, verifying insurance details, and coordinating with hospital or clinic staff. Support emergency medicine scenarios in Level I or Level II trauma centers by assisting with urgent procedures or inpatient stabilization when needed. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to diverse medical specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, or hospital medicine. Proven experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings such as Geriatrics units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or Level I/II trauma centers. Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation of patient encounters and medical records management. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, conducting intake assessments, assisting with medication administration, and supporting emergency procedures. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatric patients or those in medical-surgical units. Experience with X-ray imaging support or other diagnostic procedures is a plus. Knowledge of hospital protocols related to inpatient care and outpatient services across various specialties like urgent care or internal medicine. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments requiring multitasking during high-pressure situations such as trauma response or emergency medicine scenarios.
