Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, medical administrative support, and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and procedures. This role involves assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake and assessment, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories. Administer medications as prescribed and perform basic life support when necessary. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by entering patient information, coding diagnoses (ICD coding), and updating treatment plans. Support clinical staff in performing diagnostic tests such as X-rays and other imaging as required. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, providing education on treatment plans, and ensuring follow-up care is scheduled. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and hospital medicine to ensure comprehensive patient care. Uphold safety standards and infection control protocols within the clinical environment. Skills Proficiency in EHR systems for effective documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding for accurate record keeping. Experience in various clinical settings such as outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, Level I or II trauma centers, PICU, OR experience, or medical-surgical units. Ability to perform intake assessments efficiently while demonstrating compassion and professionalism towards patients. Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and basic life support techniques. Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care across diverse populations.
