May specialize in administrative or clinical work, or specialize in a particular area of medicine, i.e. assisting in the office of an ophthalmologist (eye specialist). Works in medical offices.

Job Description
Medical Assistant Shift:
M-F 8:30am
•5pm
Pay:
$20
•24/hour, depending on experience
Contract Duration:
681 hours (Goal to be hired on after
•weekly pay & benefits)
Start:
End of September Requirements:
BLS certification Phlebotomy experience High school diploma 3 years of healthcare experience EPIC or extensive EMR experience
Responsibilities:
Patient Intake & Vitals:
Measure height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen, and temperature.
Clinical Tasks:
Perform medication reconciliation, review patient allergies and reason for visit, administer basic injections (penicillin, steroids, testosterone), and manage immunizations.
Phlebotomy:
Conduct blood draws (in-house phlebotomy training will also be provided by a certified phlebotomist).
Administrative & EHR:
Work out of Epic in-baskets/queues and manage patient requests via MyChart.
Room & Supply Management:
Clean exam rooms, restock supplies, order medical inventory, and guide patients through clinic workflow.
Patient Volume:
Manage an average of 15 to 21 patients per day depending on the specialty.
