Job Description

Wimberley Medical Clinic is seeking a friendly and reliable Medical Assistant to join our team. Applicants must be passionate about our patients' care and the community we proudly serve.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
Answering multiple incoming calls Processing insurance referrals Scheduling appointments Providing timely follow-up calls to patients regarding lab results or patient-related questions. Obtaining and accurately documenting patient vital signs and weight, taking a brief history, past medical, family, and social history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent historical information as appropriate. Assists with procedures directly supervised by the provider. Performs sterilization of instruments. Follows documentation procedures and completes required paperwork related to patient visits. Maintains examination room and stock when necessary. Administer any medication/injection as ordered by provider and within your licensure/certification; Laboratory duties-draw blood and collect and label specimens for any send-out labs. Acts with honesty and integrity in all business transactions, including, but not limited to, employment applications/resumes, patient records, time records, and financial transactions. Ability to relay information in a positive manner. Ability to calm upset patients and present a solution to their problems. Ability to work efficiently in a team or solo environment. Performs other duties as assigned. History of working with Athena EMR is a plus! 1 or more years of experience is preferred.
