Orem, Utah | In-person About Us New Perspectives is a transitional living program for neurodiverse young adults. We provide a supportive environment where students can develop independence and confidence through clinical support, life skills coaching, academic & job readiness training, and wellness coaching. Our team works collaboratively to help each student build the skills needed for greater independence and long-term success. About the Role We're seeking an organized and reliable Clinical Assistant to join our Wellness Team. The Clinical Assistant helps coordinate care between our students, clinical team, and outside psychiatric providers while working directly with students to build independent healthcare and medication-management skills. This is a hands-on coaching position. Rather than fully managing healthcare tasks for students, the Clinical Assistant helps students learn how to schedule appointments, communicate with providers and pharmacies, manage prescriptions, organize medications, and advocate for their own healthcare needs. Support is gradually reduced as students become more independent. The Clinical Assistant assures that all healthcare tasks are completed The Clinical Assistant also leads established psychoeducational groups with oversight from our licensed therapists. This is an excellent opportunity for a current or recent psychology, social work, or related-field student interested in gaining direct experience working with neurodiverse young adults in a collaborative clinical environment. Responsibilities Coordinate care between students, clinical team, and outside psychiatric providers Meet weekly with primary psychiatric provider to exchange updates on student progress, needs, and treatment recommendations Check in daily for morning medication reminders over phone or in person Gather student progress information from therapists, coaches, and other staff Maintain organized and confidential clinical records, notes, forms, and treatment information Track treatment recommendations, goals, and follow-up needs Meet individually with students at least once per week Coach students in developing independent medication-management skills, including organizing weekly pill boxes, tracking prescriptions, requesting refills, and communicating with pharmacies and providers Help students learn to identify and appropriately communicate medication concerns or side effects to their providers and clinical team Attend psychiatric appointments with students when appropriate Lead established psychoeducational classes and groups with clinical oversight, including DBT skills, healthy relationships, anxiety management, and OCD/exposure-based skills Please note: The Clinical Assistant does not administer medications and is not a crisis-response position. The Clinical Assistant will store medications and work with students as they distribute their own medications a week at a time. The goal is to coach students toward independently managing their own medications, appointments, and healthcare needs. Qualifications Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in psychology, social work, or a related field Able to pass a Utah criminal background check Comfortable working one-on-one with neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ adults Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive clinical information Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries while building positive relationships with students Patient and comfortable using a coaching approach that promotes student independence Previous experience working with neurodiverse individuals, including autistic individuals and/or individuals with OCD, preferred Valid driver's license
