Job Description

Medical Assistant Description for a job posting Looking for a full time experienced Medical Assistant to join our great team here at Aspen Dermatology. Hours will be Monday - Thursday 8-5 and Fridays 8-1 with occasional evenings on Mondays. Position includes health insurance, PTO and paid holidays. Compensation will be competitive.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Greeting patients. Taking patient medical histories. Documentation of medical record (scribe). Importing and sending prescriptions with provider approval. Preparing patients for examination and procedures. Cleaning/handling/ processing medical instruments and care for autoclave. Assisting the physician during exams, procedures, and surgeries. Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens. Preparing and drawing medications per provider request. Injecting medications as instructed by provider (Sub Q, intramuscular, intradermal) Instructing patients on wound care, treatment plans, and biologic instructions. Removing sutures and staples. Coding and filling out prior authorization forms. Answering and returning clinical phone calls, checking Klara messages, tasks, faxes and emails. Stocking rooms and inventory check off lists, cleaning in down time. (See lists) Travel with providers to external clinics as scheduled Will assist clinical coordinator as needed. Organizing cabinets, drawers and sample closet. Making surgical after care bags and PDT aftercare bags. Defrosting fridges in the springtime. (Maintain biologics and Botox in fridge.) Post op surgical call backs as needed. Locate and update labs log. Help fellow co-workers as needed. Re-schedule patients if needed. Process biopsies in logbook, get them ready for pick up. Greet patients, take copays, register patient information and schedule appointments
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience in medical assisting Knowledge of and experience with EMR charting Knowledge of dermatology specific ICD 10 and CPT coding Possesses desire to learn Ability to adapt well to change Multi-tasking and organizational skills Knowledge of administrating on IM, Sub Q, and ID injections Standard communication skills Basic computer skills Ability to work well with others Ipledge knowledge Follow MIPS protocols Follow Aspen Dermatology Core Values Job type:
