Our Medical Assistants work closely with our physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), audiologists, and fellow clinical staff and play an important role in creating an organized, welcoming, and compassionate experience for our patients. About the
Role:
As an ENT Medical Assistant , you'll help keep our clinics running smoothly while supporting patients throughout their visit. You'll work directly with our providers and our clinical team, preparing patients for evaluation and treatment, assisting with office procedures, maintaining clinical spaces and helping ensure patients receive efficient, compassionate care. This is a great opportunity for an experienced MA who enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants to develop specialized clinical skills beyond basic rooming responsibilities.
What You'll Do:
  • Welcome and room patients while helping them feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
  • Obtain and accurately document patient histories, medications, allergies, pharmacy information, vital signs, and other required clinical information in the electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks).
  • Prepare and maintain examination and procedure rooms for patient care.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and in-office procedures including but not limited to nasal endoscopies, flexible laryngoscopies, tongue tie procedures, ear cleanings, ear tube placements, biopsies, reduction of nasal bone fractures, turbinate reductions, injections/fillers, and more.
  • Prepare appropriate instruments, equipment, medications, and supplies for patient visits and procedures within the scope of the MA role.
  • Clean, disinfect, process, and appropriately store clinical equipment and instruments according to established infection prevention procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well stocked exam and procedure rooms.
  • Anticipate provider and patient needs to support an efficient clinic workflow.
  • Provide patients with clear instructions and reinforce education provided by the clinical team.
  • Assist with coordination of follow-up care, testing, referrals, prescriptions, and clinical paperwork as directed.
  • Accurately document clinical information while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with medical records and other clinical or administrative tasks as needed.
  • Specimen processing and handling.
  • Follow OSHA, infection prevention, HIPAA, safety, and practice policies.
  • Communicate concerns or changes in a patient's condition promptly to the appropriate licensed clinician or provider.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, APPs, nurses, other medical assistants, and administrative staff
  • Help create the kind of environment where patients feel cared for and coworkers enjoy coming to work.

Other Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a busy specialty practice
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new clinical skills and accept feedback.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong sense of responsibility towards patients, teammates, and chain of command.
  • Ability to travel between our Fairfax, Reston, and Chantilly locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred. Candidates hoping to matriculate to a health sciences program such as medical school, PA/NP school, AuD/SLP programs, etc. may be considered on an individual basis in the setting of no previous formal MA training/experience.
  • Active MA Certification preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR training strongly preferred.
If candidate is not currently BLS/CPR certified upon hire, individual willingness to obtain prior to start date is required.
