Job Description

The Doc Next Door is a Family Medicine practice in Falls Church, VA. We see all ages, including newborns. Ideal candidate will be energetic, friendly and dependable, and have experience with Athena. Candidate should also have experience with phlebotomy. As a Medical Assistant, you play a direct role in the lives of our patients each day by serving our patients in a safe and welcoming environment. As a Medical Receptionist you will be the first and last person patients interact with. We are looking for individuals that share our mission to provide outstanding medical care and an exceptional healthcare experience

Flexible Hours Job Summary:
At The Doc Next Door, our Medical Assistants performs various duties within the clinic and is responsible for providing quality patient care. The Medical Assistant is responsible for rooming patients, taking a problem focused history, and updating medications in the chart. The Medical Assistant will also assist with calling patients, administering vaccines and drawing blood. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the practice manager and provider to assist patients with receiving services in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares patients for their appointment. Greet and room patients, ensuring appropriate patient flow Get vital signs Take a problem-focused history Administer vaccines and document appropriately Draw blood Update patient's medical chart with accurate and timely documentation Manage phone triage and take appropriate action under the direction of the provider Prepares equipment and aid the provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients Provides educational aids and information to patients by telephone or patient portal Under direction from providers, process refills for prescriptions following clinic protocol Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships in dealing with fellow clinic employees, managers and providers Take direction and initiate actions that will allow cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and equipment in clinical area Follow safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and state health department guidelines Maintain HIPPA compliance Performs other duties as assigned to support staff.
Experience:
Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent 2+ years' Experience as Medical Assistant Preferred 1+ year Athena Experience Preferred Phlebotomy Experience Preferred Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) preferred
Pay:
$17.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 18.0 per week
