Job Description

Nova Pulmonary is a busy pulmonary and sleep practice looking for a Medical Assistant who's comfortable on both sides of the office.
A typical day:
rooming patients and taking vitals in the morning, covering the front desk and phones in the afternoon. If you like variety and don't want to be stuck doing one thing all day, this is a good fit. We'll train you on spirometry — no prior experience needed, just solid medical office fundamentals and a willingness to learn. You'll also get exposure to sleep medicine and PAP therapy, which is useful, specialized experience that's hard to pick up in general practice. This position rotates between our two Loudoun County locations, so reliable transportation is required. Clinical responsibilities Take and record vital signs, height, weight, and pulse oximetry Perform spirometry (training provided) Room patients and prepare charts for the physician Assist with sleep study setup and patient education on
CPAP/PAP
equipment Prepare exam rooms between patients and maintain clinical supplies Front office responsibilities Answer and route incoming calls; manage voicemail and callbacks Check patients in and out; verify demographics and insurance Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments across both locations Process referrals, prior authorizations, and records requests Collect copays and post payments Scan and file patient paperwork in the EMR What we're looking for Medical office experience — we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, not someone brand new to healthcare Comfort taking vitals independently and accurately EMR proficiency (athenahealth a plus) Clear, professional communication with patients and referring offices Reliable transportation and willingness to work at both sites CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification preferred but not required
Pay:
$15.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
