Obsidian Men's Health is a small concierge urology practice focusing on men's sexual health issues such as erectile dysfunction, testosterone deficiency and vasectomy. We are seeking a certified medical assistant with at least three years of clinical experience, preferably in a concierge setting. Urology/Men's Health experience a plus. We are a very hands-on medical practice so you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and customer service. You will play a direct role in clinical operations, processes and protocols across a small team of physicians and supporting staff. Acting as a conduit between our two physicians and patients, you are responsible for ensuring that day-to-day physician care is well managed and monitored to deliver an exceptional patient experience. You will be expected to represent the Obsidian brand of concierge medicine in everything you do.

Responsibilities:

Interview patients, obtain vital signs and document medical/surgical history in EMR. Phlebotomy and specimen preparation. Patient education/coaching on topics such as medication usage and side effects, pre and post-operative instructions and injection techniques. Update, scan and file medical records, lab and imaging reports. Medication refills and ordering. Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments. Manage and order medical supplies. Maintain medical equipment. Sterile instrument set-up and patient preparation for in-office vasectomies. Maintain the standards of excellence across all patient encounters and across all internal protocols - including emails, text exchanges, and visits. Act as a high-touch conduit for accessing and recommending patient referrals, and assist patients in accessing excellent care both within and outside the practice. Establish a trusting rapport and communication standard with patients to preserve and maintain the highest level of patient satisfaction and retention. Be hyper-responsive to patient communication during standard business hours, and provide appropriate and responsible care during non-business hours. Adhere to physician protocols and policies. Adhere to all mandatory Medical Board or Professional Licensing Board regulations.

Skills:

Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Phlebotomy, intramuscular injections and the proper use of sterile technique. Strong computer and electronic medical record (EMR) skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Medical knowledge. Clerical skills.

Experience:

Candidates must have a C.M.A, L.P.N. or above and a current Virginia license. Experience working in a high-touch, customer service orientated practice with insight on how to foster and maintain a satisfying customer experience. A demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in written and verbal format to a non-scientific audience.'
