Spanish required Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, bilingual Hybrid Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist to join our internal medicine practice. This position is ideal for a motivated healthcare professional who is comfortable working in both the clinical and administrative areas of a medical office . The successful candidate will assist providers with patient care and clinical procedures while also supporting front-desk operations, scheduling, insurance verification, patient communication, and medical records. This is a fast-paced, patient-centered position that requires excellent communication, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to multitask. ResponsibilitiesClinical / Medical Assistant Duties Obtain, record, and accurately document patient vital signs. Room and prepare patients for examinations and provider visits. Assist providers with examinations and minor in-office procedures. Perform EKGs and spirometry testing. Administer vaccines in accordance with clinical guidelines and office protocols. Assist with phlebotomy and other clinical tasks as appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Communicate laboratory results to patients as directed by providers. Maintain clean, stocked, and organized examination rooms. Ensure appropriate supplies and equipment are available for daily patient care. Follow infection-control, safety, privacy, and clinical procedures. Communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff regarding patient needs. Front Office / Medical Reception Duties Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient questions and requests. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Assist patients with check-in and check-out. Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information. Assist with billing and insurance-related questions as appropriate. Utilize medical scheduling and EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks and/or Epic . Maintain accurate patient records and appointment information. Process prior authorizations (PAs) for medications and services. Process and coordinate medical records requests in compliance with privacy regulations. Assist patients with referrals, forms, and other administrative needs. Communicate with patients, pharmacies, laboratories, insurance companies, and other healthcare organizations as directed. Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the office. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception/front-desk area. Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish required. Previous experience in a medical office, internal medicine practice, physician office, or similar healthcare setting preferred. Medical Assistant certification (CCMA/CMA) preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and common medications. Familiarity with EHR and medical scheduling systems. Experience with eClinicalWorks and/or Epic is a plus. Clinical experience with vital signs, EKGs, spirometry, vaccinations, and/or phlebotomy is preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Professional, dependable, and compassionate demeanor. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and office privacy policies. Ability to work on-site in Woodbridge, VA . Preferred Experience 1 year of clinical or medical office experience preferred. Previous Medical Assistant experience is a plus. Previous Medical Receptionist experience is a plus. Experience in internal medicine is preferred. Phlebotomy experience is a plus. Experience with EKG and spirometry testing is a plus. Experience with prior authorizations, referrals, and medical records is a plus.
