Job Description

Biologic Healthcare is looking for a Medical Assistant who values patient-centered care and enjoys being part of a dynamic, collaborative practice. This position is well-suited for a positive, organized, and adaptable individual with a wide range of skills. The ideal candidate is self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. In addition to supporting our practitioners, the Medical Assistant will assist with front-desk operations as needed, including greeting patients, managing schedules, answering calls, and completing related administrative tasks.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Patient intake/record keeping/follow up/chart prep
  • "Room patients" including vital signs
  • Stock/organize/prepare examination room
  • Prepare patients for physical exam or procedure
  • Maintain/clean/sterilize medical equipment
  • Oversee dates/refrigeration/availability of medical/naturopathic agents
  • Manage scheduling of tests/procedures
  • Prepare/file documents in timely manner
  • Assist patients in completing paperwork
  • Assist office manager with document preparation, photocopying, scanning, faxing, data management and overall office function
  • Answer phone, screen and direct calls
  • Keep daily logs, document all patient communication, requests and services rendered and other information
  • Process ingoing/outgoing mail
  • Assist in preparation of outreach and educational material
  • Check and respond to designated emails Qualifications
  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • Medical Assistant certification
  • Comprehension of responsible practices and safety requirements
  • Informed about state/federal regulations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent verbal/written/intrapersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in EHRs
  • Detail oriented
  • Professional appearance/demeanor
  • Can work under pressure
  • Calm/compassionate
