Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C)

•Pediatrics (Tacoma Area) Job Summary A premier pediatric group in the South Sound region is seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join their team. This role focuses almost exclusively on direct patient care—ranging from newborns to young adults—with minimal administrative duties. You will work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting high-volume care, well-child checks, immunizations, and clinical procedures.

Key Responsibilities Direct Patient Care:

Room patients, obtain and record vital signs, and document comprehensive medical histories into Epic EMR.

Immunization Administration:

Administer vaccines and inoculations to a full spectrum of pediatric patients (newborns to young adults) in a high-volume setting (18-26 patients per day).

Procedure Assistance:

Assist providers with clinical procedures, including circumcisions, suture removals, and breathing treatments.

Clinic Operations:

Prepare and sanitize examination rooms, restock patient spaces, and manage prescription refills under supervision.

Floating Support:

Travel between regional outpatient clinics (Tacoma, Federal Way, and Gig Harbor) to provide dynamic clinical cover based on monthly schedules.

Position Details & Schedule Role Type:

Contract-to-Hire (Full-Time)

Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday (7:30 AM

•6:00 PM). Occasional weekend rotation (approx. one Saturday every 6-8 weeks, 8:00 AM

•1:00 PM).

Pay Rate:

$26.40

•$39.46 / hour (based on experience)

Location & Travel:

Float between 4 clinic sites (Tacoma, Federal Way, Gig Harbor). Mileage and bridge toll reimbursements provided.

Qualifications Required:

Active Medical Assistant

•Certified (MA-C) credential through the Washington State Department of Health (DOH). Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification. High comfort level administering pediatric immunizations across all pediatric age groups. Willingness to float between specified South Sound clinic locations.

Preferred:

Prior clinical experience in Pediatrics or Family Medicine (externship or professional). Hands-on proficiency with Epic EMR software. Upbeat, empathetic, and approachable demeanor with a passion for working with children. Benefits & Perks (Upon Permanent Hire)
