Required/Mandated Align your pro-abortion values with your work. Join a dedicated staff in patient-centered care. Cedar River Clinics is seeking a self-motivated and dependable Certified Medical Assistant. This position will work closely with patients and staff. Successful candidate will perform direct patient care in abortion and/or well person/LGTBQ clinics; assisting patients and/or clinicians; must show the ability to react with appropriate level of urgency to situations and events that require quick response; efficiently solve difficult or complex problems that affect patient and/or clinic care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Certified Medical Assistant in Washington State. Current BLS certification. Experience as a birth or abortion doula preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills - both written and oral. Demonstrated ability to be flexible. Prior experience in a medical related field preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as medical databases required. Bilingual preferred but not required. Be detail oriented and able to perform repetitive tasks without error. Must be Pro Choice.
SKILLS:
Ability to make judgment decisions within the scope of assigned tasks. Demonstrated flexibility in handling multiple tasks and working in different areas. Ability to prioritize and perform tasks under pressure. Verbal and written skills, the ability to document verbal communication in a legible, accurate and objective manner. Interpersonal skills, the ability to initiate and conduct two-way communication in a clear concise manner. Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
  • Comfort working in a broad range of clinical care areas including lab, ultrasound, procedure rooms, aftercare, and pathology.
Comfort working with patients experiencing acute loss and/or complex grieving Possess a strong commitment to feminist healthcare and reproductive and LGBTQ rights.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional responsibilities beyond routine Medical Assistant assessments and procedures:
  • Help facilitate patient-centered grief care.
  • Assess and respond appropriately to patient physical and emotional needs during all stages of the abortion process.
  • Complete follow up care calls as directed.
