A Medical Assistant assists physicians and other medical specialists with routine administrative or clinical tasks. Organizes patient records, schedules appointments, and prepares medical equipment. May specialize in administrative or clinical work, or specialize in a particular area of medicine, i.e. assisting in the office of an ophthalmologist (eye specialist). Works in medical offices.
Shift 1, M-F, varied shift start and end pending clinic and procedural needs - start time as early at 0630 on some days. Call required Tuesday-Friday. No weekends at this time. Holiday rotation
Job Summary:
Provides proper care and disinfection of all equipment and accessory instruments. Completes all room set-ups. Performs general clerical duties and provides support for patient care activities performed by RNs, LPNs, and physicians.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or LPN program required. (May consider experienced MA candidate without MA diploma if eligible for certification). Current State or Nurse Aide Registry required for those that complete the CNA program.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
CMA or RMA certification required or must obtain within 6 months of hire for those that complete the MA program. WI LPN license required for those that complete the LPN program. CPR certification required.
