Job Description
Medical Assistant Job Description The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of a busy dermatology clinic. This position supports providers by acting as a scribe, rooming patients, assisting with procedure preparation, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The Medical Assistant also works extensively within electronic medical record and scheduling systems to ensure accurate documentation and efficient patient flow while maintaining a friendly and professional atmosphere for patients, staff, and providers. Responsibilities + Act as a scribe for providers, accurately documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record systems. + Room patients efficiently, obtain and document relevant medical information, and prepare them for examinations and procedures. + Assist providers with the preparation and setup for dermatological procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready. + Support patient care activities, including basic clinical tasks appropriate to a Medical Assistant or LPN in a dermatology setting. + Use electronic medical record systems to enter, update, and maintain accurate patient information and clinical documentation. + Use scheduling software, including Eclipse scheduling database and MediNotes systems, to manage appointments and support clinic workflow. + Assist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and check-out processes as needed to support clinic operations. + Work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and other clinic staff to promote a friendly, efficient, and patient-centered environment. + Adapt to a fast-paced dermatology clinic, managing a steady patient volume while maintaining attention to detail and quality of care. + Participate in triage activities, including handling patient calls and routing clinical concerns appropriately, where assigned. + Support multiple clinic locations or schedules as needed, ensuring consistent and reliable coverage within the dermatology practice. Essential Skills + Ability to train and work effectively in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. + Hands-on experience with electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical record systems. + Experience with appointment scheduling in a clinical setting. + Ability to act as a scribe for providers and document accurately in real time. + Strong patient care skills and commitment to providing compassionate, professional service. + Ability to collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinical staff in a team-based environment. Qualifications + 1-2 years at minimum of recent medical assistant experience. + CCMA or RMA preferred + Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Schedule Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, somedays may work 7:30am to 4:30pm. No weekends. This position is fulltime onsite in Oconomowoc, WI. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oconomowoc, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
