Job Description

oone Memorial Health Boone Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient clinical team. The Medical Assistant works closely with providers and other members of the care team to support daily clinic operations and provide quality, compassionate care to our patients. What You'll Do Greet and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner. Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures. Obtain and document vital signs and patient medical history. Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor office procedures. Collect and process specimens and perform blood collection procedures. Perform waived laboratory testing and EKGs. Prepare and administer medications, vaccinations, and injections as directed by a physician or other licensed provider and within the scope of the position. Recognize and appropriately respond to medical emergencies. Follow up on patient test results and visits as directed. Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records. Assist with prescription refill requests as directed by the provider. Schedule patient procedures, order laboratory tests as directed, and update patient charts. Assist with other clinical and administrative duties necessary to support efficient clinic operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Medical Assistant program from a credentialed institution required. Medical Assistant certification required. BLS certification preferred at hire and required within 90 days of employment. One year of EMR experience preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment and as part of a team. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods and perform activities including reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
